Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) Courses in the US:

Coursework includes taking vital signs, updating medical records, administering medication, patient safety, nursing ethics, and effective communication.

Students also participate in a clinical experience where they observe and learn under the supervision of a licensed nurse or other healthcare professional.

After graduating, students can take the National Council Licensure Examination for LPNs (NCLEX-PN).

The primary distinction between LPN and LVN programs, despite their similarities, is the name used in each state. Licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) are referred to as Licensed vocational nurses (LPNs).

The rest of the nation uses LPN, while California and Texas use the term LVN.

LPN programs typically take one to two years to complete and are offered at community colleges and some hospitals.
